Vintage 60’s with Lancaster Photo
Shot on Digital Camera by Lancaster Photo. Hair & Makeup by Caitlin LeBlanc.
Film? Digital? Polaroid? Working with Zach was one of those cool moments to try a bit of everything. The concept was 1960's starlet tired of the flashing cameras and the spotlight.. Scroll down for comic book photos.
I first met Zach in 2017, we worked together in the vicinity of rescued animals and cool people. I didn't realize how deep his love of photography was at the time, he was first and foremost a musician to me. Super talented singer, guitar player and half of the duo Zach and Jim.
Fast forward through time, Zach was working at a local camera store and gave me some good advice on my old *very old* camera. I started to take notice, keeping an eye through social media (as we do these days..) and seeing his style photography grow. I still remember this one portrait he took of an old co-worker of ours, so simple but the colours and quality of the image.. There was just something about it.

When I reached out to Zach, I felt a bit nervous about asking someone I knew and really admired their work, to do a photoshoot together. I had just done my first real photoshoot and was anxious to keep the momentum rolling. Luckily (and I should have known this already), the positivity and excited response I got back made me feel confident and happy I reached out. He is the one who came up with the 1960's concept and found the Inspo photos (Twiggy!).
My idea was the comic book.. I will take credit for that and thank you to Golden Age Collectables for pointing me in the right direction for this era correct edition of Superman.
Which next leads me to Caitlin. After doing a low key follow on instagram and fan grilling over her work for a bit, I finally messaged her about her rates and availability. Once again (happily), a positive and excited response back. I love her clean style of make up and equal talent with hair.

I am a low key person with hair and makeup, and I had the concept, but this was a self styled shoot and everything was only pieced together from my end with a huge help from Zach. Caitlin was so open and friendly, her set up was AMAZING. Makeup so organized, brought her own lighting so she knew everything was perfect and awesome at checking in with me along the way. She gave advice, helped with the concept and turned it from just an idea, into a real thing. The energy she brought made me feel confident and excited to do this shoot.
This was such an amazing experience, collaborating with people who's work I admire and feeling like it all worked out in such a good way. This shoot was worth every penny and YES I paid for this shoot. It is so important to not take advantage of anyones talent or kindness. If you are in the position where you can afford to pay, do it.
